I write songs about feelings. Pretty simple, really.

Of course, there’s usually a story somewhere in there — but I’m much more interested in the feeling that came with it. That weird little ache you can’t explain, the excitement you can’t sit still with, the nostalgia that sneaks up on you, or the moment you realise, oh… I’m definitely going to write a song about this.

So that’s what I do. I take all those little feelings, put them into words, add a melody, and somehow end up with a song.
